01/03/2007: "All I Want For Christmas Is You has passed 400,000 copies in the UK!"

According to Mariah Connection, All I Want For Christmas Is You has sold 405,901 copies to date. The single was certified Gold (400,000) in the UK by the BPI in December of 1994. If sales continue to do as well as they have this year for the next couple of years, Mariah could have her first ever Platinum (600,000) single in the UK.

Merry Christmas is only 22 copies away from being 4.8 million units in the USA according to the latest Soundscan figures of 4,799,978. Hopefully by the end of this month she reaches that. It is a mere 22 copies.

Yes. The phyiscal single sold over 1 million copies (must have shipped around 1.5M) + 500,000 in downloads = 2 million.

RIAJ (Recording Industry Association of Japan) began tracking digital sales last Sept and i believe AIWFCIY was certified 2X platinum (500,000)... is this amount included in that 2 million figure for Japan???

I realized that after I wrote this that you did indeed have this page. Does that guy BKS have an updated figure for AIWFCIY or is last week's total gonna be it? I hope we get MC's full catalog Soundscan numbers and I wanna see where TEOM is now.

'AIFCIY' sold 2 million in Japan too and it should be Gold in Australia (35,000). I have the single at 3.35 million worldwide.

If you count the USA and UK, then the sales of AIWFCIY are 954,707 so this single is surely well over 1 million units worldwide because this is not even counting Australia and other countries. Do we have an estimate for the song worldwide?
