Girls run the Billboard Hot 100.
The 2011 Billboard Millennium Award winner's "Run the World (Girls)" stopped at No. 29 earlier this month, but its subject material summarizes the state of the Hot 100. With a seventh week at No. 1 for Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," lead female acts have ruled the survey for 19 consecutive weeks.
The stranglehold on the Hot 100's summit by lead solo women ties for the chart's second-longest. Here is a look at the greatest such stretches:
33 weeks (Sept. 30, 1995-May 11, 1996) 8, "Fantasy," Mariah Carey 1, "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)," Whitney Houston 16, "One Sweet Day," Mariah Carey (& Boyz II Men) 6, "Because You Loved Me," Celine Dion 2, "Always Be My Baby," Mariah Carey
19 weeks (Feb. 26-July 2, 2011) 6, "Born This Way," Lady Gaga 5, "E.T.," Katy Perry (featuring Kanye West) 1, "S&M," Rihanna, featuring Britney Spears 7, "Rolling in the Deep," Adele
Women also win the battle of the sexes. The female record of 33 consecutive weeks atop the Hot 100 bests the best streak by solo males. Usher, Snoop Dogg, Mario and 50 Cent combined for a 27-week streak at No. 1 in 2004-05.

On his 92.3 NOW morning show earlier today, Nick Cannon has said that he will personally release some photos of his newborns Moroccan & Monroe this weekend. He said they are not holding out for more money or anything like what was rumored. Nick's co-host Sara Lee said Monroe does look more like her daddy and Moroccan his mama Mariah.

Nick Cannon had his and Mariah Carey's 8-week-old twin babies on his mind at the Mercedes-Benz Manhattan opening on Tuesday night. "My son is a tough guy," he told New York Post of Moroccan Scott. "He doesn't cry, he's already got muscles, so Moroccan was a perfect name for him."
He seemed to be comparing his daughter, Monroe, to his wife. "Monroe's a diva. She always has to get her way, and she loves being held," he said. Cannon picked out a silver van he wanted to buy at the event. The "America's Got Talent" host explained, "We gotta figure out how to get around the city."
"One Sweet Day" on Billboard's "Longest" Moments

It's June 21. And on this longest day of the year, Billboard presents a look at the record-breaking "longest" moments on the Billboard charts.
Longest Reign at No. 1 on the Hot 100 Released in 1995, the enduring Mariah Carey collaboration with Boyz II Men, "One Sweet Day," spent 16 sweet weeks (four months!) at the pinnacle of the Hot 100 chart.
Mariah Wants 'Tasteful' Kid Photos
Posted by Lynn on Tuesday, 21-Jun-2011, 12:01AM EDT
Mariah Carey is shopping shots of her newborn twins, Moroccan Scott and Monroe, but the pop star will have trouble getting the millions she initially wanted for them, sources say.
Multiple mags including People and OK! are jockeying for the photos of the 7-week-old twin boy and girl, which will likely fetch a more modest $200,000.
But sources close to Carey and husband, "America's Got Talent" host Nick Cannon, say the couple is more concerned with how tastefully the shots are presented than any giant price tag.
"Mariah and Nick are more concerned with doing the right thing than going to the highest bidder," said a source close to the couple. "They're talking to a number of publications about doing it in the best and most tasteful way. Nick has said on radio he doesn't feel entirely comfortable selling pictures of his children. But the first picture remains very valuable to the paparazzi."
Carey has already landed a few covers with her long wished-for pregnancy. She did a "My Baby Miracle" interview with Us Weekly in November. She then posed naked while pregnant on the cover of Life & Style in April, prompting Cannon to joke on his radio show, "My children are going to have to see these pictures... It's a little weird."
The twins were born in an LA hospital on April 30 but have not yet been seen in public. "She is still deciding when and if she's going to [do the pictures]," said a rep for Carey. "She is enjoying being a mom, and there's no rush. It's not about the money."
Sources say Carey had hoped at first to get much more for the photos, possibly rivaling the most expensive of all time. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got a reported $14 million for Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline in 2008, although it went to charity.
But, "There's not much movement going on right now," said a source. "Everyone wants them, and everyone is putting in offers. But times and budgets have changed from the Brangie baby years."
Nick Cannon: Motherhood Is 'Eye-Opening' for Mariah
Posted by Lynn on Monday, 20-Jun-2011, 12:56PM EDT
For Nick Cannon, the birth of his two children was incredible. It may have been even more symbolic for his wife, Mariah Carey.
"She really knows what being a woman is about now," Cannon, 30, told PEOPLE recently before deejaying at Las Vegas's Chateau Nightclub. "This whole journey has been eye opening, she'll tell you that."
Since son Moroccan and daughter Monroe arrived on April 30, Cannon saw his priorities change immediately, as did his decisions. "It's just the beginning, so I'm expecting it to change a little more," he said, adding that he is "growing every day and knowing that I have to be an example for two lives."
Photo: Mariah Remixes Her Sweet New Scents

Mariah Carey found sweet success with her last fragrance, Lollipop Bling, which was inspired by hubby Nick Cannon's delicious wedding proposal. And now, the new mama is sating her sweet tooth again with another addition to her Elizabeth Arden fragrance franchise.
Called Lollipop Splash the Remix, the trio of new scents shows off Carey's fun-loving personality and features hand-picked ingredients that express the singer's playful side. There's Inseparable, which contains notes of raspberry, mango, jasmine and orange flowers; Never Forget You, which has wafts of gourmet jelly beans and golden peony; and Vision of Love, inspired by French macaroon and purple jasmine. (All are named for Carey songs.)
"We strive to create fragrances that give people the ability to connect with Mariah on a more personal level, just as they do with her music," perfumer Marypierre Julien said in a statement. "To create Mariah Carey's Lollipop Splash the Remix, we worked with Mariah and used her music as an inspiration to craft scents that are like floral melodies." The fragrances, each topped with Carey's signature butterfly and priced at $35 each, will hit department stores in July.
Mariah Heads Back to Sony?
Posted by Lynn on Thursday, 16-Jun-2011, 5:51PM EDT
Doug Morris won't officially take over at Sony Music until July 5th even though his contract says July 1st. This has to do with prior commitments for the July 4th vacation. Then, just as I told you on March 16th, L.A. Reid follows and joins Morris to run Epic Records. Right now Reid off with the "X Factor" crew judging contestants.
Meanwhile, elsewhere at Sony, Peter Edge is expected to run the RCA end of things, while Tom Corson still presides at the company. Basically, Universal and Sony have swapped staffs, with RCA-J-Arista's Larry Jackson having already moved to Interscope.
What fun! Artists will go back and forth. It's expected that Mariah Carey, upon releasing her last album at Universal, will head back to Sony with Reid. There, she can rejoin her old catalog. Confusing? Sure. That's why we love it!
German Hackers Convicted of Stealing Mariah Songs
Posted by Lynn on Thursday, 16-Jun-2011, 4:41PM EDT
Two young hackers were convicted in Germany Thursday of stealing new songs from stars such as Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey and offering them for sale on the Internet, a court said.
The local court in the western city of Duisburg found the defendants, aged 18 and 23, guilty of dozens of counts of violating copyrights and hacking confidential data, a spokesman said. Their names were not released.
The teenager was handed an 18-month sentence at a young offenders' institute while the older defendant received an 18-month suspended sentence.
The two used Trojan horse software to gain access to the computers and e-mail accounts of the managers of high-profile artists, took unpublished songs and offered them for sale or download in 2009 and 2010.
The new material came from top-selling stars including Carey, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Leona Lewis and Kesha, the court said. Prosecutors say the two earned more than 15,000 euros ($21,000) with the scheme.
"The court considered the fact that both defendants are attested to be highly addicted to the Internet to be a mitigating factor," the spokesman told AFP, adding that full confessions given to the court had also counted in their favour.
Defence attorneys had asked the court to call the affected artists as witnesses but the judges rejected the bid.
Mariah Carey to Launch Lollipop Splash Remix
Posted by Lynn on Wednesday, 15-Jun-2011, 5:21PM EDT
Mariah Carey is remixing her fragrance collection with Lollipop Splash the Remix, a trio of limited edition scents set for a July launch.
The collection is a flanker effort to Carey's Lollipop Bling trio, which launched last July as a strategic partnership with Elizabeth Arden Inc. and Bazooka Candy Brands, a division of Topps Co. Inc. That partnership has since ended. Carey has been launching scents with Arden since 2007. Each scent in the new collection — Inseparable, Never Forget You and Vision of Love — is named for a Carey hit.
"Mariah is always reinterpreting and mixing her music, keeping her brand relevant," said Marcy Fisher, vice president, North America fragrance marketing at Elizabeth Arden. "She wanted to have the same effect with her fragrances, so she decided with this project to approach it from that perspective."
Inseparable, in a pink bottle with Carey's signature butterfly, has notes of raspberry, mango, pear, jasmine and orange flower; Never Forget You, in an orange-tinted version, features notes of jelly beans and golden peony, and Vision of Love's notes include French macaroon and purple jasmine. It is in a purple bottle.
"The fun notes are intended to demonstrate that fragrance shouldn't be so serious," said Fisher of the playful notes like jelly beans and macaroon.
Clement Gavarry of International Flavors & Fragrances developed Inseparable, while Givaudan's Claude Dir and Marypierre Julien did Vision of Love and Never Forget You. Each eau de parfum is one ounce and will retail for $35, exactly the same pricing as Honey, Mine Again and Ribbon, the three scents in the Lollipop Bling trio.
The scent trio will be carried at about 2,300 department store doors, and will be supported with national advertising this fall, as well as with a digital and in-store campaign, which will be rolled out at launch.
"Mariah's fans really love the digital aspects of her projects, so that will be a focus," said Fisher. "Also, the bright colors of the bottles really pop on counter, so we're planning an in-store presentation designed to emphasize that." Vials on card and scented stickers will be among the vehicles used for sampling, she said.
While Fisher declined to comment on projected sales for the trio, industry sources estimated that they could generate retail sales of $8 million to $10 million combined.
Mariah Talks Babies in UK's OK! Magazine

IT'LL BE GLITZ, GLAMOUR AND KEEPING THEM GROUNDED Following the birth of her twins, Mariah Carey talks parenthood, hubby Nick and that nude photo shoot...
Proud parents Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have finally settled in at home with their beautiful twin babies Moroccan and Monroe after a dramatic few weeks following the birth of their first children together. The singer had to spend an extra two weeks in hospital after delivering the twins, who both weighed in at just under 6lb. So when she emerged in a black Rolls-Royce with her husband when they drove their bundles of joy home from the hospital for the first time, Mariah understandably had a look of relief on her face. 'I'm feeling so blessed,' she Tweeted after returning to her pad. 'I just finished singing to the babies (softly!).'
Here, Mariah opens up in her own words about becoming a mother, Nick's reaction to fatherhood and how she felt about her nude pregnancy photo-shoot...
I could not do the having a child thing half-heartedly... I couldn't just be like: 'I'm having a child, yay, let me get a nanny so I can give her the baby - take the kid.' That doesn't work for me. I don't believe in that.
Being a mother is probably the hardest job in the world... I feel like, in a lot of ways, children come into the world to teach us. It's going to be a delicate balance between raising them around glitz and glamour and keeping them grounded. One thing I'm sure of is that I'll be grateful for the twins every day, no matter what.
I felt very vulnerable about taking the nude pregnancy pictures... But then I didn't want to miss this opportunity to document a once-in-a-lifetime experience. My ultimate goal was to share that incredibly personal moment with my true fans.
Before now I'd never ever been to a baby shower... My baby shower was my first one - it was so festive! Nick and I were so grateful to everyone who came to celebrate with us.
Nick is so excited to be a father... He already has this natural talent with children - they take to him right away. He's so nurturing, loving and fun. He definitely will be a hands-on dad.
It was so much fun designing the twins' room... I had such specific ideas I wanted implemented. I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cosy environment for the babies. Everything matches, but pieces are individualised to celebrate the twins as separate entities. I wanted to do more than cookie-cutter styles in blue and pink.
We need to have Mother's Day once a week... It's hard to have kids in this world. I have so much respect for mothers everywhere, especially those who've had difficult pregnancies or given birth to multiples.
You've gotta take care of yourself... You have to try and stay pretty, you know. My life is bizarrely healthy in some ways. I have to be overly aware of people holding the microphones. Singer turned into that know that if someone touches your microphone you have to sterilise it.
This is one of the few times in my career that I've actually taken it easy... Well, sort of. I am looking forward to spending quality time with the babies and Nick, and that's our plan.
I've been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy... It's been a long journey and it's been tough. But this is a whole new beginning and I'm beyond excited about it.

Perez Hilton recently sat down with Nick Cannon and in this previously unseen footage below, Mariah's husband tells him all about Mariah's new album!
Perez Hilton: You said that she's working on or she's been working on new music. Nick Cannon: She is she's -
PH: And that you said it's going to be out before the end of the year. NC: I said, I think there will be a record out before the end of the year. I don't know the album is going to be - PH: Is that still on track to happen? NC: Yeah, it should happen.
PH: And whats it going to sound like? Are you giving us a taste, a tease - NC: Like I told you on the radio, if she - PH: You got to listen to the radio because I get a Mariah scoop from him as much as possible. NC: Yeah, she's very inspired by her early work.
PH: Which I think is very amazing. NC: She's been listening to her first two albums quite a bit and - PH: Those first two albums. Actually the third album was amazing too. Actually the fourth album. Those first four albums. NC: And that's what she's been listening to.
PH: Actually even up until the fifth one which had "Honey" on it. You see I know my Mariah Carey! NC: I think it's going to be good though. I think she - you know because she's ready to bring music back to the game and I think that's her job so she's excited about being able to be musical and bring the voice back. PH: Well, I'm so excited about that. And like I think that radio could really be recep — if she hits the right lane, radio could be receptive because I think we might be at a point where we're danced out. NC: Done with the dance.
PH: But you could still have pop that's dancy like "Someday."(Perez sings "Someday") NC: That's my favorite song. I love that one. PH: I love that song too. NC: She does not. She doesn't.
PH: No? NC: She thinks I'm making fun of her every time I sing it. PH: No, I love that song. NC: I was like that was, that video was the video when I fell in love with Mariah Carey. PH: She doesn't love that song? NC: [Watch the video for more.]
Music Promoter Gets 21 Months in Mariah Carey Scam
Posted by Lynn on Monday, 06-Jun-2011, 2:46PM EDT
A purported music entrepreneur who bilked a New Jersey investor out of $330,000 by claiming he was promoting a series of Mariah Carey concerts in Dubai has been sentenced to 21 months in federal prison.
Antywan Ross also was sentenced Monday to pay more than $325,000 in restitution. Ross, who now lives in Berkeley, Calif., headed RDA Group. He claimed the Atlanta-based firm would use the money to promote the concerts. He told the investor that the money would be used for upfront expenses and that he'd be repaid with interest.
The shows never took place, the investor was never repaid and Ross admitted that he used most of the money for his own benefit. He pleaded guilty last year to wire fraud. The investor's name was not disclosed.
Just about every girl growing up dreams of being prom queen. So did Andrew Viveros, who had his wish become a reality when he was crowned McFatter High School's prom queen Friday night.
Viveros, who for the past two years has gone by the name Andii, is a transgender who fought to get his name on the prom queen ballot. He is the first transgender to be named prom queen at a public school in the United States. "I was in shock," Viveros said. "I was just smiling."
Viveros received the most votes over 14 girls for the coveted title at the Davie, Fla., technical school. A few students didn't think Viveros should have been allowed to compete for the title and started a petition to get his name off the ballot for prom queen. Viveros, who is also president of the school's Gay-Straight Alliance, wrote a speech to explain why he had a right to run.
"Why would I run for prom king? I'll have to wear a tux, which I'm not going to do," Viveros said. "I'm going to wear an evening gown."
Viveros' parents were also proud of their child's accomplishment. "He's my child and I'm going to love him no matter what," Viveros' mom, Bernadette Viveros said.
Now, Andii hopes his crown and sash helps pave the way for other teens like him. "It can open up doors for others who don't have a lot of encouragement," Viveros said.
Huge Mariah Carey fan Andrew Viveros is a regular contributor to MariahDailyJournal. He has been featured on the site many times in the past for his impersonations of Mariah which you can check out on his You Tube channel. His most recent appearance here was in Christmas 2010 when he was one of the finalists of our MariahDaily's Got Talent "Oh Santa! Edition" singing competition. We congratulate you and wish you the best, Andrew!
